Restore the pipe organ?
…or…
Purchase a digital instrument?
Many church committees now face this stark alternative. If we’re honest, we all know that there is nothing quite like the experience of a pipe organ. The decision between upholding tradition with a fine pipe organ on the one hand, and keeping within a reasonable budget on the other, can prove a difficult and emotional one. However, there is a third option!
You may know that Rodgers 49 year heritage includes building both pipe organs and electronic church organs. Did you also know that we have been building Pipe/Digital Combination Organs since 1971 and have become the leader in this field with well over 3,500 such instruments installed around the world?
A Combination Organ solution gives the flexibility of a digital specification, whilst retaining the solid foundation of tone that comes from speaking pipes. It can be:
- Creative
- Cutting Edge
- Space-saving
- Highly Cost-effective
- Musically excellent
Because Rodgers Parallel Digital Imaging technology generates dynamic, ever-changing, stereo imaged sound, it blends with real pipes far better than less refined digital technologies. The final instrument – both pipes and digital stops – are voiced together by one team, ensuring that the organ speaks with complete integrity. The blend is seamless and thrilling!
In the UK, our pipe organ building partners are MPOS Ltd, a company set up in 2005 by gifted and experienced craftsmen to pioneer the Combination Organ concept with Rodgers in the UK. The five directors of MPOS Ltd have a combined experience of over 100 years of pipe organ building.

Rodgers’ unique partnership with MPOS Ltd means that we can offer cutting-edge solutions for all situations, with quotations, designs and specifications created individually upon request. For example, we can:
- Build an entirely new instrument combining pipe and digital stops and a Rodgers console. Example
- Restore and integrate existing pipe-work with digital stops and a Rodgers console. Example
- Provide suitable digital additions to an existing pipe organ, perhaps filling out an ‘incomplete’ stoplist (any type of action can be interfaced). Example
- Replace a worn out console with a Rodgers console, and all the versatility this brings.
Please contact us at any time to discuss how such a solution might enhance musical worship in your church.
