Cathedral chose a Rodgers 967 during the restoration of the
famous Willis Organ. As the Cathedral runs an extensive music
programme, it required a temporary instrument capable of accompanying
daily services and leading large congregations.
The Rodgers 967 is a large 76-stop three-manual organ with floating
solo division from the Trillium Series. A powerful 32-channel
audio system was placed in the triforium opposite the Willis
case and the console was placed downstairs in the choir.
The Rodgers 967 was used to accompany some significant services
including the Service of Welcome and Inauguration for the new
Bishop of Hereford. It was also used at the ordination and the
RSCM diocesan choir’s festival.
