Rodgers helped recreate the Royal Albert Hall's Willis Organ for the duration of its recent epic restoration. We installed a Trillium 967. This 76-stop three-manual organ with floating solo division was voiced by Rodgers' technicians with the invaluable direction of RAH organist Dr. John Birch. Several of the Willis pipe ranks were sampled in order to recreate the once inimitable sound.

A powerful 32 channel audio system was positioned over the pipe organ case with the console located on a moveable plinth which could be sited anywhere on stage, or stored below when not in use.

Dr John Birch said:

"The temporary installation in the Royal Albert Hall has proved most successful. Particularly impressive is the way in which the samples of the Harrison Swell, Great and Solo Reeds have been incorporated into the specification. The instrument has a commendably wide tonal range and is well able to fulfil convincingly the many and varied roles for which it is required".

This particular 967 has now found a prestigious permanent home in Cardiff, having been purchased by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for use in their new concert hall. The installation, including voicing the organ to the acoustics of the new building, is due to take place in 2006.
